With over 36 years of experience in air quality regulation, Chris specializes in air dispersion modeling, permitting, and SIP development. He spent two decades with the Alabama Department of Environmental Management leading PSD modeling and clean air planning, and more than ten years with EPA Region 4 supporting permitting and SIP actions across the Southeast.

Professional Contributions & Leadership

Throughout his career, Chris has been recognized for his leadership in strengthening coordination between state and federal air programs and advancing consistent, science-based modeling practices. At ADEM, he managed PSD modeling and collaborated on clean air plan development, while at EPA Region 4 he provided expert technical guidance and training to state and local air agencies. His mentorship and commitment to regulatory excellence have helped shape air quality modeling programs across the Southeast, ensuring that permitting and SIP strategies align with evolving EPA standards and best practices.

Personal & Interests

Chris lives in Georgia with his wife, Lisa. Married for 37 years, they have two married daughters and five grandchildren. Outside of work, Chris enjoys fishing, model railroading, and college football, along with tracking weather patterns and serving actively in his local church.
